The preview trailer of the Project 3.0 show coming soon on the Campus TV.

The Project 3.0 show documents the unfolding of a new business paradigm from the ground up. Three guys with diverse talents take on a $ 300,000 renovation of a bare historic building without any financial resources whatsoever.

The goal of the renovation is to convert this abandoned building into a zero energy structure - a completely self sustaining building. The show documents the progress of an open collaborative exchange of skills, goods and services resulting in the completion of the first phase of the project - from abandoned building to fully functional venue. The core team of 3 people is now over 50+ strong and spans the range from startups to publicly traded companies.

The Project 3.0 show will officially launch 1st quarter 2010. The first 5-6 episodes will summarize everything that has happened from the very beginning to the present after which the show will continue in real time. The venue itself is infrastructure for any creative business endeavor you can imagine.

We encourage anyone with any creative talent/input/artwork or business idea to contact us and become a part of the show.

  • so on board!!!! this shit is gonna be bomb...Suggestion will no doubt be playing there again

  • This looks like an absolutely inspiring and amazing project. I love the sound of it. But I do find myself in need of a lot more info to understand [how] all this is happening. I watched the whole video, read the description, but it's still not adding up for me: where does social media fit in all this? How are you doing it without capital? So many questions that can only increase with more understanding of those basics.

  • the Campus TV site will become that platform of infrastructure; the Project 3.0 show will document & fuel the growth of the network.

  • Alright, it's all adding up more now. I'll definitely be on the lookout for updates and more videos on your progress, guys. This documentary simply MUST be huge, coz it can inspire people all over the world to create tangible, physical change from something as simple as networking, creating exposure for themselves and business angels. Best of luck really!

  • We'll be building a power generator in collaboration with MIT grads that are in the middle of Africa powering up entire villages with a solar turbine they've invented. We communicate over Skype & they have send us schematics that we'll be using. We share these schematics with other groups - universities, Engineers without Borders etc to see if we can improve them and so on. We source out components locally.

the Campus TV destination site will have this web 2.0 communications infrastructure

  • Alright, I'm all clear on the second question about capital alternatives. I'd love to see details about the first question, though. What examples of new technologies have been used to contribute to the project and how? How did Web 2.0 help you source "materials" into the project? How exactly can someone living at the other end of the world help you renovate that building? If you can show any of this in video or another format, that would be very interesting to understand.

  • all reasonable questions. social media fits in as we utilize the existing web 2.0 infrastructure to connect with / develop / import new technologies & materials into the project. We're literally working with people around the world.

We've done this with no capital by offering the companies contributing materials/products marketing exposure by being featured in the documentary. Interestingly this almost immediately morphs into other biz opps that far outweigh the $ value of the contribution.

  • Tim - you are an absolute critical & valued component of this & that will always be appreciated and never forgotten.
