Diffent people have different withdrawals, It acts very differently for each individual, and varies from nothing to EXTREME nausea, headaches, etc.
I suffered the latter, and it was easily comparible to a hardcore opiate withdrawal. Not fun.

First switch to a SSRI like zoloft and then after a while on that, lower the dose, then after a while stop altogether.
Take it from me, it is IMPOSSIBLE to quit Effexor once you've been on a high dose by just stopping it. Your brain goes haywire and the nausea is worse than anything imaginable.
So use the switching method. Just go to the local doc, don't tell them you're on Effexor (to cover their arse they always say to just keep taking it), and just ask for a SSRI script.

agreed ,think faggots just talk up withdrawel from this,yeah take a week of work,do it slow but no big deal,compared with putting a gun to your head.

@balckbettystack i agree with u that getting off effexor isnt that hard.hav in a go at people who say it s hard.i think if you mainline smack/crack that would b hard to stop.

@poopy50832 That's extremely hard to get off of.Not that Iv'e done any hard drugs like smack/crack.Just from my patient's who have got off heavy stuff tell me how hard it is not only to stop but to not go back to that when extremely stressed.For those who don't,I trully admire.
