@tsuruenka9 it may have been 1979 or the early 80's, he liked to have gaijins in his band, on bass was Mike Dunn formerly of Shogun or Parachute I forgot which, Mike is still here in Tokyo. Here's a funny story about Ai George - if he hadn't seen you in years, remembered your face but not your name he'd ask, Hi, is your telephone number still the same? This happened to me a few times when I ran into him in walking around Roppongi over the years. Very funny :-)

@tsuruenka9 George did this to me for many years whenever I'd see him in Roppongi,

he'd ask that question then say, Ok, and walk away! I guess he remembered people

but not their names.I played guitar 2 years at Akasaka showroom Golden Gessekai with a different Japanese singer every night, Oyan Fifi, Ozaki Kyohiko and many more.

Nearby was Latin Quarter and Copacbana. I played many concerts with singer Matsuo Kazuko. She was very kind to me. RIP

@tsuruenka9 Hi, it's been many years since I performed in public in Japan, all my Japanese entertainer friends are retired or passed away, RIP. Early 1980's I led a band with Matsuo Kazuko's rhythm section. We played clubs and festivals. I recorded with singing duo Cherish but have no idea how to locate the songs! I keep in touch with jazz singer Yoshiko Goto and producer Masahiro Ikumi. The Gessekai, Latin Quarter Copacabana years were great fun! Is Ai George still alive?
