Our cheesy pop song/concession to the record label ("Boom") seemed poised to become a hit right as zillions of dollars were poured into upstart Internet companies no matter how inane their premise. Gigabeat was a means of linking your favorite band to similar bands. A site for the guy in "Memento," I guess. Anyway, they had the financial backing to throw a lavish party, inviting Trinket and the most vanilla band on the planet, Train.

You can tell that Train felt that they were above the gig, while Trinket, on the other hand, were thrilled. Free flight, hotels, food, drinks, AND we're getting paid?! And our crappy song actually got people on the dance floor. (I mean, like five people, but still . . .) Trinket won the battle, but Train definitely won the war. (Seriously though, listen to the lyrics of "Meet, Virginia." Holy shit, that's awful.)
