So the arachnotrons look like Mario even though you play as Mario, and they didn't even bother with the arch-viles.

Of course, in Peru, they have actual arch-viles, so no doubt they left them alone because they're protected wildlife. They ride out of the forests at night on dinosaur back and raid garbage cans and cause small pets to burst into flames and explode and then they bring them back to life because they are such sensitive and poor and misunderstood creatures. Save the arch-viles!
