In this tool-assisted education video I will demonstrate how to use QBasic to create a video performance, something that an expensive tool like Microsoft Powerpoint is often used. It is useful when you need to generate lots of stuff programmatically. (This video is not entirely serious.)
This program will illustrate the anatomy of the standard 256-color VGA palette.
This video also illustrates well the principle that in programming, it often happens that to achieve 2 minutes of glory, the amount of background work needed is way, way more than. The typing of this program takes several times longer than the time to watch its output, and that's with quite rapid typing.
And the unseen part, which is the designing of this program, testing the clarity of video and audio at each step, and the speech synthesis patch to DOSBox, took even much longer.
This video is PART 1. PART 2 (the produced video) can be seen here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-9QnckzyYvs
The background music is composed by me. I used the same music in my "Creating a snake game in QBasic" video, seen here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TUa5HJUebEA
However, in this video, I played it using my 2010 version of MIDINS, which means that the pitch slides and vibratos are heard properly as they should have been. In the other video, I used the 2000 version because the 2010 version did not exist yet.
Man, I watched your videos, and I saw you spend your life building websites in PHP. Seriously, what a waste. You should be writing compilers or working for science.

@Bisqwit can you give a link to it?

@So1idlSnake You can find the original version (before I changed my mind and made it into an AdLib song) at: bisqwit.iki . fi/music , at "Bisqwit recital". (No comments about the name, I honestly have no idea where it came from.) The AdLib version is not available currently. You may want to skip to 11s in the song.
