    It seems you’re unaware of the reasons for coloring such images. It’s done to elucidate structure, visualize subtlety from images of invisible wavelengths, represent chemical composition, etc.

    Read the subsections of the “behind the pictures” section on the following page, and I doubt you will continue incorrectly relating this valuable tool to drug use and/or advocating for its eradication:

    p.s. An "accurate" representation of an object measured by a telescope using an infrared detector would be an image every bit as invisible to the human eye as the object itself, at that wavelength.
