2008 Nikon Indy 300
IndyCar Series
Streets of Surfers Paradise
October 26, 2008
For you IndyCar enthusiasts, I share the final running (for now, I hope) of the Nikon Indy 300, the long-running IndyCar street course race in the streets of Surfers Paradise, Australia. This is the tape-delayed ESPN2 version. It's one of my favorite races and racetracks of all time and I really miss this street circuit for the Izod IndyCar Series.
Because the Chicago IndyCar race was already scheduled as the season finale, this race was a non-championship event for the IndyCars. Ryan Briscoe took the win when Will Power crashed while leading. Bob Jenkins was the commentator while Jon Beekhuis was the pit reporter, which I believe is the final time both were on ESPN before they moved to Versus the next year.
