Have you used it for drawing or writing, rather than just the point-and-click motion as a mouse? If so, how well does it work? Does it respond okay?

I would say you could definitely use this for drawing, and I have occasionally. It works pretty well and I would recommend it.
On a side note, I am still using this pen and do like it, although sometimes I just go back to my regular mouse because it can be a bit difficult to use for precision clicking.
