Thank you for posting this. I just spent 9 days in Rabinal, visiting Pacux almost everyday. I have a friend who now lives in Rabinal doing mission work in Pacux and Rio Negro. She has a cousin who was adopted as a young child and was a survivor of the massacre's in Rio Negro. My friend took her cousin back there to see if she could find any living relatives, of which she did and also a documentary was made of the trip called "Finding Dominga" which aired on PBS.

While we were in Pacux, my friend was talking to an older gentleman who had a plastic bag in his hand and I saw him swing it around in the air and then made a motion as if hitting it against something. I found out he was show my friend how they took one of his young children and swung it in the air and then hit it against a wall until it was dead....there are many stories like that . Makes me wonder what I was doing in 1982, what was my life like, while they were fighting for their lives.

@BeeuTforAshes Thank you for sharing that story. I'm glad to hear people are still working and taking interest in Pacux and Rio Negro. It's really an outstanding story of survival and determination.
