Maybe someone like Lincoln Chafee can afford to pay more taxes on things that have NEVER BEEN TAXED before, but I surely can't in this economy. He is out of touch with the average Rhode Islander and doesn't understand how much we're hurting right now.
Chafee obviously doesn't "get it" and proves he doesn't by wanting to tax the clothes on our backs and the food on our tables. The answer to our problem is not to just spread the taxes around differently, the answer is to CUT THE SPENDING! so that the taxes can be lowered. I don't know whether Caprio gets that either but that's the simple yet true answer to the question.
