Autonomous Vehicle - BCIT Mechatronics and Robotics Department - Student Project by David and Robin.
The purpose of this project was to build an autonomous vehicle to compete in the RoboMagellan contest. An RC car chassis was modified with a new motor and controller. A GPS, sonar sensors, optical encoder, webcam, electronic compass, and netbook computer were added so the robot can autonomously navigate between waypoints and locate orange traffic cones. This was their final project for the Mechatronics and Robotics department at BCIT, the British Columbia Institute of Technology.
