Vanity Hill 1x01 - All Fall Down

Picks up where the promo left off. Brooke returns home to Tree Hill. However, all is NOT how she left it behind. Lucas sits and thinks about the first time he met Rory Gilmore. Then she comes up to him to talk to him in private about something he had asked her earlier. Brooke tries to surprise Lucas and ends up with a surprise for herself.

Rory talks with her mom Loreli about something Lucas asked her that she felt was out of the blue. Her mother tells her that Lucas had talked to her about it a few days before he asked her. Both of them not knowing that Lucas asked Rory to marry him in a rash decision after finding out Brooke was coming back home.

Brooke goes to visit an old friend she had made right before leaving Tree Hill. Dean Winchester. Her earlier surprise (Sam) asks how they know each other and Dean explains that it had happened while Sam was away at college.

Haley finds Lucas to see if he's okay about Brooke coming back. She knew that he and Brooke had not parted on such great terms. He hasn't seen Brooke and has been avoiding her as best he can.

Brooke finds Peyton who is sitting alone thinking about how much she missed Brooke while she was away. The two talk and Brooke remembers how badly they left things when she went to New York. Peyton tells Brooke that she misses her and wants to be friends again. Brooke agrees because she misses her too. Peyton asks if they can be like before and she tells her no because what they were before Peyton did what she did, is gone. Even though Peyton knows she was in the wrong about what she had done (which has yet to be revealed) she's still grateful to have another chance.

Rory sits in her old room and looks at the ring Lucas gave her. Her room is noe empty because she moved in with Lucas a days before and smiles at the thought of being with Lucas forever.

Back in New York...

Dan is still upset about Brooke leaving and finds an equally upset Blair. He tells her that he wishes he had told Brooke how he felt before she left and that he had a chance and blew it. Blair asks him why and he says he doesn't know but he wishes he had told her how he felt no matter the cost. Then Blair thinks about how she wishes she had told Brooke how she felt about Chuck long before things got so out of hand.

Back in Tree Hill...

Haley tells Brooke that even though shes back she still has a lot of making up to do. She tell's her that she's on notice and better clean up her act and be the girl she loves. They hug. Then Brooke goes to visit Nathan to tell him something that's been bothering her (something we won't find out until next episode!).

After talking with Nathan, Brooke makes her last stop. Rachel. She and Rachel have kept in touch while Brooke was away and Rachel tells Brooke that she can stay with her in her house. Brooke is shocked because even though the two are friends, they have a very weird love/hate friendship. Rachel asking Brooke to stay with her crosses lines that take them into 'close friend' territory. Something Brooke never thought would happen and jokes with Rachel about it.

Brooke then starts to move into her new home. She sits and thinks about all the friendships she has to fix since leaving Tree Hill. She also thinks about all the friendships she may have lost or ruined back in New York...
