Mayo Clinic researchers have found that abnormalities of diastolic function -- when the heart is in its relaxation phase -- are strongly related to decreased exercise ability, particularly as patients age. The study was published in the Journal of the American Medical Association Jan. 21 issue.
Patricia Pellikka, M.D., a Mayo Clinic cardiologist and lead author, discusses the study.

  • So she said that people who don't exercise and older people have poorer diastolic (resting or between beats) function of their hearts.

That' certainly doesn't qualify as a news flash.

I noticed she also talks in a vague way with lots of jargon. Then she jumped right into talking about medical tests.

She never said - Aerobic exercise, at least 3 times a week, makes your heart and lungs stronger.

If your doctor can't help you, fire him or her. I would fire this woman is she were my doctor.
