This is the beautiful opening, return from intermission, and the closing themes along with breathtaking scenes of Norway. From the wonderful 1970 musical, "The Song of Norway" which told the story of the musical career of Norway's most famous composer, Edvard Grieg.
Directed by Andrew L. Stone. Musical score performed by the London Symphony Orchestra.

  • Thank you LoreneFaith. I know I will remember them all as I played this record literally 'hundreds' of times, but haven't heard it since mid 1970. So it was lovely to hear the songs again. It bought back memories as only music does.

  • @jenandjeff28 I am glad that I my clip has brought back beautiful music to you. Thank you for your comment.

  • Absolutely beautiful music and the countryside is stunning. I have loved this music since the 1960s-1970s when I had a Readers Digest album. I have never seen the film.

  • @jenandjeff28 It is a beautiful film and I have loved it myself since the first time I saw it when it was first released. You would love the movie. I have a couple of other clips from the film that I will be posting.

  • I've seen this movie on the big screen and it's glorious. It has moments of brilliance and moments of complete amateurism, but overall a wonderful and ultimately poignant film.

  • @Classicsatdusk I agree. This movie is so beautiful and has so much wonderful music. I think it is priceless myself and it is so underrated.

  • This film deserves to be out on blu-ray. It was one of ONLY 16 films shot in SUPER PANAVISION 70mm. Song of Norway is part musical, part operetta. I think that's what confused alot people about it. Also, this was post EASY RIDER and the new frontier of censorship breaking down. It was daring and innovative for the director and his wife to go this route with the experimental quick editing. It certainly has a good feeling to it.

  • You are very welcomed. I agree, that this is one of the best musicals ever and has never received the recognition that it deserves. I will be uploading more clips from this movie soon so stay tune.

  • One of the Best musicals that combines wonderful music, songs, scenary and a melodrama befitting the Great works of Evard Grieg. Many thanks for the posting.
