MORE LEXUS HS 250h @ INSIDELINE.COM:
http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/Drives/FirstDrives/articleId=148786?tid=...

We're sensing an eerie state of calm from the Lexus officials at the introduction of the 2010 Lexus HS 250h in Newport Beach, California. It's the kind of calm you experience at a poker table, when you're waiting for the other guy to finally lay down his cards.

Then it happens. An executive cheerily admits that he hasn't a clue about how well this newest member of the Lexus family will be received by the marketplace. Fuel prices are too volatile, he says.

In this line of work, a response like this would normally be intercepted by the brain in its formative state and its utterance prevented. So either the Lexus brass is speaking the truth or they're simply being coy.

We would find out later that it's some combination of the two.

  • M67v u don't know anything about the Eco it can still have the air on and EV u can only go under 19 miles an hour and the only thing u got right is PWR and it does change the gears it gets most out of

one gear before shifting and I know all this is because we have this car

  • okay 35 city okay what if you took the gas engine out and replaced it with a 2.0 ltr diesel from the cars that they send across sees that we cant have.the gas millage should be 80 or better city and 90 plus highway they can 68 and 70 over ther why we can't we have it over here (oh yea the oil company's hmm) lol sad

  • @koukiR32

    LOL

EV mode is to shut off the engine and get the best gas mileage ever in the car

ECO mode is to turn of the air conditioning and go slow and save gas and get a much higher gas mileage

PWR mode is to maximize speed/performance but still get good gas mileage

i bet the best gas mileage for the EV will be 43 ECO 37 PWR 28

  • @jdk014 I'd still rather drive the Prius. Kinda stupid to lose 10mpg over a badge.

  • NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO!

  • @DiscoveryLegend Agreed!!!!...recent studies showned that the HS 250h isn't selling very well in America, which is no surprise....why would any sane person get this car over a loaded Prius?

  • 35 city and 34 highway?

    Fail.

  • lol i bet that car can smoke an IS250

  • @mkivdog1 It's a Toyota Prius in an Armani suit.
