Each year, the Dixie National Rodeo is held here in Jackson MS at the fairgrounds. Apparently, one of the competitive events is "Wagontrain", and several wagontrains will come from all over the place, travelling a couple of weeks on the road, to come to the rodeo. There's a parade, and the wagon trains are judged on creativity, form, behavior of the horses, and the all around togetherness of the wagon train, I suppose. This particular wagontrain won first place last year, and comes from Wesson, a small community 60-odd miles from here. The trip takes from Saturday to Thursday.
Great way to see the world -three miles an hour!!
