This is John and Cob driving the reverse flo small block on the street for the 1st time on some Minnesota back road. Notice how the exhaust comes out the top of the engine and the carbs are where the exhaust is supposed to go.

  • Well if it's reverse then it means it runs the flow the opposite way. The exhaust exits where the intake normally is and the carbs are down where the exhaust manifold used to be.

  • You guys just throw a reverse rotation marine starter on it?

  • so whats the reason to do this?

  • as soon as you switch the carbs and cats, and cams.. then.. prreeeetty much.. cyl. heads aren't perfectly symmetrical (think 3v engines.. its not always 2 intake 2 exhaust) and they're designed that way for a reason.

Switching things around will still yield a running engine in reverse.. but it'll need more fine tuning to make it good.

  • What all would you have to do for this, Run a reverse rotation cam, and turn the timing around, Is that all.

  • would it matter which way it flows since you get the same 4 stroke consistency?
