Der Grosse Preis - 1988

Der Grosse Preis was one of the most successfull quiz shows on German TV. It was broadcasted by German TV channel ZDF from c. 1975 -- 1990. In 1988 the quiz, moderated by popular TV moderator Wim Thoelke, had a candidate specialized in the life and work of Mahatma Gandhi. He won the quiz twice and in this third round all candidates ended up in a draw.

The questions for the subject Gandhi were prepared by the founder chairperson of GandhiServe Foundation (then: Gandhi Information Centre), Peter Ruhe -- http://pr.gandhiserve.org -- who also prepared the quiz team and made footage and photographs available to the show. In the show itself Prof. Dr. Chandra Bhal Tripathi acted as expert for Gandhi's life and work.

Ich fand es sympathisch, dass Thoelke zu Beginn auch immer alle Kinder vor dem Fernseher begrüßt hat. Ist mir besonders in Erinnerung geblieben, da ich zu dieser Zeit Kind war :)

@Woggyflush Also wenn Hans-Joachim Kulenkampff kein "Besserwisser" war, weiß ich auch nicht. Ihn fand ich immer viel nervtötender als Thoelke. Alles Geschmackssache ;)

Danke fürs Hochladen, aus historischer Kuriosität. Mein Gott, war der Wim Thoelke ein Arschloch! Wie er die Kandidaten immer abbügelt, wie er "alles besser weiß", wie er am Ende die Dolmetscherin demütigt. Was für ein peinlicher Mensch. Aus der damaligen Ära wäre Hans-Joachim Kulenkampff mein Favorit, ein echter Gentleman!

Heute spielt man um Millionen (Jauch, Raab usw.) Alles total abgehoben und

schon krank !

@GermanDefenceLeagues Von wegen Naive unschuldige Zeiten! die haben es "nach Vorne" halt nicht gezeigt, dass man damals schon einiges "im Griff" hatte... Vor allem was allgemeine Vermaktung und Schleichwerbung anging... Ich war 1988 Ein Teenager, aber ich würde niemals dorthin zurückwollen.. Jugenderinnerungen sind eine Sache, Ein Zeitgeist ist weder was anderes.. Der Heutige Kommerz den man kennt, war damals auf Hockonjunktur... Konsum war großgeschrieben...
