The cats are voiced by classic jazz vocalist Peggy Lee, (who also sings as "Peg" in the dog pound scene). Yes, looking back, this does look incredibly racist. Has hollywood changed much since this movie was created? Not really. Jake Gyllenhaal cast as the lead in "Prince of Persia: Sands of Time" proves casting white actors in minority roles is still status quo.
