  • Thank you for these pictures. I think the architects of the Star Ferry would appreciate your effort very much.

  • Great video. Just been back to Hong Kong - the new pier's great, but not the same somehow - I miss the atmosphere of the old one. Thanks for these memories.

  • what has happened after the demolition??? Are the ferries still running??

  • Very interesting. A great piece of work with excellent pictures. Sorry to see the old terminal go.

  • If you view my clip (I only have one on YouTube) you might be able to find out why. Some people might wonder why my clip contains sound others didn't have or with the sound quality others didn't have - well, if you have studied physics, you will know that sound travels from a higher density medium from closer to the ground to a less dense medium above the ground. This effect is more significant in the middle of the night when the background noise level is low.

  • Apparently you were on the ground of Edinburgh Place when you took the photo at midnight when the pier was decommissioned - the same spot it was shown on TV live. What many people did not know was that another TV camera was on the rooftop of the Star Ferry Carpark at the same time. I knew this because I was there, too and the cameraman literally asked me to move over a bit so that he can place his big TV camera there. However, no TV station ever showed the scene taken from that spot.

  • Thank you for the beautiful pictures, it was so sad to see them knock it all down. I wish we had worked harder to save the Star Ferry pier and clock tower. But I don't think Tsang would have listened anyway...
