To get the big dog house, you have to buy all things at the pet shop where it sells, cat house and other things... And it will upgrade until you see the house.. (i just founded out it yesterday!) lol xD

@MultiJb1000 You have to get "aspiration points" and you get them by competing your sims wants. Then you'll be able to extend your room by 2, then 3 then 4 rooms!
