Postville Rally in Waterloo 5.18.8 (El Redado en Postville)

Hundreds of immigration rights supporters marched over two miles to the site where detainees from last week's ICE raid in Postville have been processed for deportation.

The National Cattle Congress, were some are still believed to be held, heard chants of "ICE go home!" and "No more raids!" from the families of those affected. Many onlookers were waiting at the site before protesters arrived.

This video is a glimpse of the rally and some of the testimony of supporters, including some from the small NE Iowa town of Postville.

I believe there is a huge difference between stealing people's identities to rob them of money and property, and using false papers to get a job.

"Freeloaders" they are not.

I'm talking about the owners of the factory who hired a thirteen year old to do their Agriprocessor work.

It was reported that there may have been more than 20 underage workers. Who hired them?

Illegal immigration spiked by 66% since conservatives pushed for the passage of NAFTA. Mexican fameers could not compete with corporate industrialized farming in the US. Unemployment went up. Wages went down in both countries. Children in Mexico are now working in sweatshops owned by US companies. We need to renogtiate nAFTA and help Mexico better itself if we want people to stop migrating. Again deportations and walls do not solve the CAUSES of immigration, they just waste taxpayer's money!

We need to see more and more of this! shutdown the employers who are too greedy to pay a decent wage to hard working americans! With the unemployment rates at thier current levels there is no need for illegal aliens. Hopefully this opened jobs for some of those unemployed in Postville area, the illegals will move on to invade another community taking their poverty with them.

The Postville area will be much better off having had this happen.
