Fleet Week 08 AH-1W Cobra starts Up

These were taken from Clove Lakes Park, Staten Island 5-24-08
Marine helicopters: an AH-1W Cobra, UH-1N HUEY, (2) CH-46E Sea Knight, and a restored UH-34D Seahorse helicopter
The restored UH-34D Seahorse helicopter provided by Marine Helicopter Squadron 361 Veteran 's Association, Inc., will also be displayed. It is the same type of aircraft as was used for combat rescue in Vietnam operations and during the Cuban Missile Crisis before it was replaced by the CH-46E.

There's no mistaking the sound of a military helicoper, if they pitch the propellers just right you can hear them miles away.

@Duwijality Cooler noises huh? I'd say the whapping of a huey overhead is a pretty badass sound- especially when you know it's probably got a .50 and a minigun on it.

I've been out the military for 4 months now and I miss it already, specially when I see videos like this one, I just remember the adrenaline when we did an air assault mission and this brings me a lot of memories from those days.
