2001 NASCAR Old Dominion 500 - Kevin Harvick punts Bobby Hamilton out of the lead

Bobby Hamilton did a bump and run on Kevin Harvick to get the lead only for Harvick give him a payback sending him into a spin. Harvick was penalized a lap down for it. Interview from both drivers.

The only reason Hamilton spun and Harvick didn't is because Hamilton has no talent. That penalty was bullshit too. Hamilton hit Harvick harder, you can see it on the replay.

Wally Dallenbach and Rick Wilson drove the car and they never won, hardly reached the top 10, and rack up few DNQs til Hamilton stepped in. Hamilton might have few wins in the cars but its the first time 43 won since Petty won his 200th race

harvick is the man, was just a kid back then tryin not to get pushed around and i'll be damned of he didin't put his foot down. Just like the man that used to drive that car. Kevin isn't trying to be dale he's just bein a competitive racer and so what if he picked up a few pointers from the best

Yea, racing FOR Cup series championships! Bobby Hamilton was one of a handful to EVER win a championship as driver AND owner in nascar history! And he wasn't saying anything about Dale, he was saying Harvick is trying to be like him and will never come close. Just because Harvick had all the better equipment, does not mean he is a better racer. Bobby built his own shop with his own money and even took his sponsors with him to the truck team.

I remember the day that he made that comment about Earnhardt. That was the day I lost any shred of respect I ever had for Bobby Hamilton. But at least he was partially right. Harvick had a little more time, and now he's racing for Cup series championships...something that loser could only ever dream of doing. That's why he was relegated to racing for truck series titles for the remainder of his miserable failure of a career.
