Midway Arcade Treasures 2 - Early Trailer: you can see some things from MK3 that never appeared in the actual game: like the bells in the Belltower stage, the missing names of the robots, ... Footage from Mortal Kombat Trilogy was used as well for some reason. Apparently there was an option to play the compilation online (XBox Live option, probably same was planned for PlayStation 2) but later it was removed.

  • By the time MAT2 was released, UMK3 was going to be part of the Premium Edition of Mortal Kombat: Armageddon. If they had it in MAT2 too, then they were risking lesser sell-rate for the Premium Edition of Armageddon.

That might of course not be the truth at all.

  • @viraticwars I;m the same way, I love compilations. The Ultimate Genesis Collection was a godsend because most of my key Genesis titles were lost in a move years ago, and the collection had most of the big ones I missed (Shinobi 3, Decap Attack, Vectorman, etc.) I also jumped all over the SNK/NeoGeo arcade collection, which is equally awesome.

  • @eMachinePower becuz umk3 is an overrated pile of shit, why not add mortal kombat trilogy?

  • I'm a sucker for Complation packs. I bought the Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection and I baought the second Midway Treasures. Those are both worth the money. Primal Rage is a classic, as well as Rampage and the MK games. The rest are pretty much bonus.

  • I have that game on ps2

  • The only problem I had with this game was when playing MK2 I cant fight smoke. cuz by pressing the start button it actually pauses the game and the main menu appers. so fighting smoke was like a no no. other than that the game plays like the acrade edition the controlls, the sounds, the fatalities, and the gameplay.

  • I don't get it. They used clips of Mortal Kombat Trilogy for Mortal Kombat 3? One clip had UMK3 Smoke vs. MK2 Kung Lao in an MK2 background and one clip had Mileena vs. Kitana in their UMK3 sprites. Those two characters were NEVER in Mortal Kombat 3.

  • A lot of you say that MK II and MK3 had sound problems.

I was never observant enough to know any of these.

    Where exactly were they?

Also, there should've been an option at the Main Menu screen to let you toggle between having only Start pause, only Select pause or have both pause.

If that option would've been available, only Select would pause for me in MK II and when/if Dan Forden appeared at the Portal, I would've got to kick the shit out of Smoke which I enjoy.

  • yep, you should read the article about all MAT compilations at MKSecrets, alot of info is there

  • The MK3 version was not arcade perfect, some sound glitches. MK2 also had sound problems.

  • total carnage was my favorite on this
