I have had my VS2480 since since 2004/5 and use it exclusively for recording and it has never let me down whether at home or on the road.I have recorded a fair few CD's with the Roland it is easy to learn.. Use the mouse and VGA monitor for ease of use AUTOMIX IS AWESOME

yeah your wise to stick with an interface however this machine is awsome for mobile it sets up super fast with lots of user interface(knobs) so it wastes little time +i find this to be way more stable,no shut downs no freeze ups...
