In my class there are only 4 violas. And the teacher makes us play by sections sometimes, and if i mess up just a bit, i turn red cause the people will know who it was. =( And there are about 20 violins, 2 basses, and 3 cellos.

Can't that piano just shut up. I just want to hear the viola. The piano is to over powering, and takes away from the epicness of the viola. Love the Viola, hate the piano.

Shostakovich writes pieces that deal with his emotions against Stalin, Communism, and War. Shostakovich wasn't like Tchaikovsky. She is just reflecting the composer's feelings. I a play viola and I know that you play every piece different. How you play it depends on the composer, time era, and especially how the composer wanted it to be.

This shows how complex and brilliant shostakovich was.Olga plays it with great emotion and strength.One has to admire that.I've had the privalege of playing his 5th symphony and trust me-its not easy ;)
