わに塚の桜は日本武尊の王子武田王の墓、前方後円墳、王仁族が住んでいた所と諸説ある場所として知られてます。また、古くからの言い伝えでは、日本武尊の王子の武田王がこ­の地域を治めた後、埋葬された場所なので「王仁塚」と呼ぶようになったともいわれています。晴れた日には、わに塚の桜から一緒に八ヶ岳が見れます。
桜は推定樹齢300年、幹周り3.6m、樹高17m、枝張23mのエドヒガンザクラの一本桜で韮崎市の指定天然記念物になります。

This Sakura is a Takeda king's tomb. Keyhole, and various theories I have been known as a place where alligators lived in the family. In addition, the old lore, after the king reigned over this area of Prince Takeda,Yamato Takeru, where it was buried because "Wanizuka's Sakura" is said to be now referred to. On a clear day, you can see the cherry blossoms along the mounds Yatsugatake.
Sakura estimated 300 years old, 3.6m trunk circumference, 17m in height, is designated a natural monument in Nirasaki Ed cherry cherry tree which flowers early in 23m expansion of this branch.
