  • I thought the point of a bus route was that it stopped now and then to pick up and put down passengers? Looks like a complete waste of, I assume, public money?

  • @awmigosh This is a preserved bus doing a lap of the Busway in Runcorn, which was the first of its kind in the world, just to show people who are maybe interested what it is like,,,,you can see in the video several Arriva buses which are the service buses on the busway. This was done as a bit of fun and cost nobody but myself any money. Surely the point of owning a preserved vehicle is to enjoy it? And thats what i was doing,,,,,enjoying it....You assumed wrong....

  • i dont know if you are aware, but this bus is now happily in preservation. Great video.

  • Yes,and now it's back in south yorkshire livery. As soon as I get a moment I will post a video of it in new (original) colours...

  • Thank you for posting this. Although I don't know a great deal about buses, I am interested in the Busway system and it is great to see the various features of the route.

    Thanks again,

    Jonathan

  • @national1075 Glad you enjoyed your fun!

  • I Remember when I drove a mark 2 in service for the first time back in 2002 for First Hants. Lovely old buses. Felt and drove like a bus should. Absolute pleasure.

  • thanks for that, it would be great look forward to seeing her back to her former glory.

  • Good buses but they always sounded like they needed another gear up top

  • Great sounding National!
