@golfdogma You are an idiot, I am not even really a fan of his, but reading this just made me had to respond. He was trying to WIN a competition, the producers tell him what he has to do and change, he did an awesome job at doing so, have some integrity? Have you met you? 311 obviously gave permission to American Idol to cover their songs, and they got paid to do so. You are the douchebag, and you should be shot for breathing our (every other human's) air. That is all.

311 posted this on MySpace the day after it aired with the title "Finally some good music on American Idol" and I agree with them. At least he was taking them something different.

Am I the only one who is slightly appalled that these judges who are in the industry, especially Randy who seems like he knows every song ever written, have never even heard of 311?

omg i remember this. i was 11 years old at the time and i was playing upstairs. all the sudden my mom and dad were like, "Nico! Come here!" i come down stairs and i see this guy singing this song.

I really like the way he censor's himself ... he has more talent than anyone else to ever be on Idol, but at the same time he is just not an "idol" ... I mean, he's great at what he does but he is just not "elvis" ... still an awesome performer that deserves every bit of fame he earns
