Nintendo has recently decided to do a full on attack of Homebrew.

Currently, Nintendo is scanning their online servers from Mario Kart Wii and the Conduit for hacks, using hacks on either of these servers will get you banned from any and every game you play online (they put a tracker so it finds what games you play online and bans all those friend codes).

Also, they are setting it up so you get a tracker if you have an HBC signature while loading the internet (IE, you loaded the game through Homebrew) and it finds all your FC's. In short, you will get banned unless you essentially change all your save files.

In addition, they are cracking down on the distributon of Homebrew and curtailing it here on Youtube. So be careful, and make sure you find a safe way to install Homebrew. Unfortunately, unless I or someone else takes legal action (which we should win, but would be too time consuming), this crackdown will continue.

I am expecting there will be a 4.1 update to patch the Bannerbomb method and likely force a new version of Homebrew to work on it, IE, causing people who upgraded to have to re-install it (if a new HBC hack is made, it could be a good patch).

  • they are making smashstacks so bannerbomb is gonna die

  • Its been made, bannerbomb is more useful so far.

  • no i mean bannerbomb is not gonna work for nintendo's recent update for the nintendo channel

  • They said that about 4.1 but it never did come about, Bannerbomb should be easily patchable and so they should have come up with a solid patch by then, but they didnt. Who knows, they might not wanna patch it, just make boot2 impossible to make any IOS changes without having Nintendo do it.

  • NNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooooOOOOOOOooo

  • I've used Homebrew before, but NEVER used it for hacking games. Only to play NTSC games on my PAL Wii.

    Don't have it anymore :)

  • Here's a solution as said by other people below, WAHHHHHH!!!!! CRY ME A PUDDLE OF TEARS!!! STOP HACKING!!!! I HAD THE HOMEBREW CHANNEL BEFORE, AND I DELETED IT BECAUSE IT DID NO GOOD. I GUESS YOU WILL HAVE TO ACTUALLY TRY TO WIN A GAME ONLINE NOW!!! WAHHHHHHHHH Please, just stop hacking...

  • hacking should only be allowed offline

  • Dude, just fuck off.

Hacking is illegal as it is a breach of contract of the User Agreement, that you agreed to, in order to gain access to Wi-Fi.

The homebrew channel has destroyed MKWii [with TAS, speed/item hacks] and the Conduit, with a hacker in just about every game.

How many more games must be destroyed before this madness ends, and you stop fucking hacking?

  • heres the compromise- i will make it simle so anyone can understand it- You amy hack, but ONLY for offline play. If you try to go online, your wifi and internet will not work and you will have to get a new one or get it fixed, so too bad.

I think that that would be fair.

  • good im glad nintendo did this i hate hackers!!!

  • @illinialex24 pirating dumb? well tell that to my full of money wallet and all the best wii games i have

  • There's one thing that bothers me. Does Nintendo have a YouTube channel?

  • On the conduit that allows your to by bass the ban error code so it doesn't really matter.
