They're crunchy because you put it in the cupcake tin to bake. If you used a large square or rectangular pan, that won't happen due to less of the surface area being in contact with the pan. But in any case, consider them like cookies :)

Hilarious....yes, brownies r supposed to be square...what you all made were cupcakes...with crunchy bottoms, no less. But at least you had fun and that's what family is all about....isn't it???
