This video was designed to expose the misconceptions about corn and corn ethanol. People were interviewed on the campuses of the University of Saint Thomas and Macalester College about these misconceptions. Minnesota farmers were then asked to respond to the interviewees answers. • God forbid a farmer makes money! Did you know 80% of farmers have an off farm job? The joke is, we actually pay $5-$15 at the pump in OIL subsidies. Almost 45 billion a year in oil welfare. The companies combined are PROFITING 700 Billion Dollars a year. Cut that funding, let the farmer make a buck.

  • im also doing a paper on ethanol and would like to use some the facts you guys stated. could you please send me the links to where you found them so i can also source them

  • COME ON PEOPLE! The only reason corn is used in EVERYTHING is because the government taxes everyone and pays the corn producers so they can sell the corn cheap. This is why they put corn in fuel. This is why they replaced sugar with corn syrup. The government has skewed the market and is wasting our tax dollars. The local corn communities benefit to the detriment of the entire nation. Now, when the country goes bankrupt and cannot pay corn growers, they will suffer greatly.Corporate welfare!

  • Dont we have a surplus of oil in America? Were just using other countries oil first.

  • What happens when we become dependant on other countries to supply our food? They say we have enough now but what about the future. 90 million acres are being farmed for ethanol. Lets say all our land was farmed for ethanol this would only produce 12% of Americas fuel needs.
