@grantsdaman01 Affirmative Action does not apply to medicine. And a country like the US which has racism imbedded into its culture, a policy needs to be implemented that brings different sections of society and integrate people from all ethnic backgrounds. Affirmative Action creates ethnic tolerance. It is fact that since Affirmative Action was brought in during the 1960's, race has become less of an issue (still a problem but has improved). White men are stuck the most advantaged groups in USA

a system which favors blacks is just as racist as a system that favors whites. i wouldn't want an amateur surgeon operating on me who only got his position because he was a minority.
