Young lawyer Stewart meets and marries a girl, Lombard, after knowing her one day. He takes his bride home to meet his mother to find she disapproves of the marriage. He thinks everything will be fine as he moves up the ladder of the law firm, but things don't go as he had hoped. The arrival of a baby makes things even tougher.

Made for Each Other is a 1939 film starring Carole Lombard and James Stewart.

Carole Lombard was the highest-paid star in Hollywood in the late 1930s, earning around $500,000 per year.

Lombard became involved with actor Clark Gable. In 1939, during a break in production on Gone with the Wind, Gable and Lombard were married in a quiet ceremony.

On January 16, 1942 Lombard, boarded a plane to California which crashed 32 miles southwest of Las Vegas. All 22 aboard were killed instantly.
