Philippe EL HAGE - Theatre Monnot

Talented Lebanese composer and pianist Philippe El Hage took on Monnot with his 3 other musicians , and played some of his best, including a couple of new compositions from his upcoming third album.
The Quartet composed of Fouad Afra on drums, Florence Krouchi on bass, Damien Hennicker on saxophone and of course Philippe El Hage on piano performed tracks that mingled jazz, classical and oriental music in a performance that left many speechless.
The music conveyed a mood that varied between melancholy, bitterness and hope and was played with such eloquence that it had the audience on its feet once the last note was struck - a standing ovation for a Lebanese musician, who deserved the praise.
