Two people in a discussion about shit that doesn't actually exist - thrilling.

I really like Driscoll but this charismatic crap makes him look really bad. It is child's play exegetically to show that the gifts were for a particular time and have ceased with generation of the apostles. to show

@ChristopherakaPaul Yea read the whole chapter. Great way to take things out of context is to quote 4 words from a 300 word point. Phrases lose their original meaning when they are picketed.

I Thessalonians 5:19: Quench not the Spirit.
I Thessalonians 5:20: Despise not prophesyings.
I Thessalonians 5:21a: Prove all things....
I Thessalonians 5:21b: ...hold fast that which is good.

Mark 16:15-18: And He said to them, Go into all the world, proclaim the gospel to all the creation. He who believes and is baptized will be saved, but he who does not believe will be condemned. And signs will follow to those believing these things: in My name they will cast out demons; they will speak new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it will not hurt them. They will lay hands on the sick, and they will be well.

Responding to Driscoll:
How on earth can "God 'speaking' through creation/conscience/common grace etc" have anything to do with prophetic revelation/dreams/visions?????
Sorry, but that is a classic example of the "Apples and Oranges" fallacy - blurring two completely different subjects together to make it look like the same thing.

Haha Driscoll's the man. How are you gonna sit up there and say that this is a "magical place where screwy things happen" when the Holy Spirit is clearly moving.
