@hosvos This is Ry Cooder playing a traditional mexican song. The composer is José López Alavez.. Search for José Alfredo Jiménez. By the way, this version had a particular tex-mex arrangement.

Pure cinema magic. The grainy super 8 film with the spotty continuity has the quality of memories. The scene establishes Harry Dean Stanton as the father, reestablishes his relationship with Hunter, provides backstory, and introduces Jane as a character. All in 4 minutes. "Do you think he still loves her? ... I think he does. But that's not really her. It's just her in a movie."
