Taidamfan, China is used to classify Yunnan people in Zhuang (Chuang, greater number), Naxi (Puyar Narq), Bai (Pai in Lao), Moso (Tho in Lao), Dai (Tai in Lao). They are closely related. China calls officially a great people group living in south Yunnan, the Dai. If you go down from Kungming to Laos and Vietnam borders you will see them along main rivers. They call themselves Dai. Mr. Goodman writes in English that these people are AiLao-shan people. I bought his book in Kungming.

This shifting of tone made me in trouble in understanding the tongues of some Tai people living south of Kungming. 'TeeJouArShur...', not 'TeeJouArShuy...'. In practical conversation with some Yunnan Tai, if I have had enough time to hear, that might be no problem.
Thank you very much.

Thank you Laogal for your gracious comments. Most of Taidam borned in Laos can speak n writes Laos fluently. This song was composed by a Lao-borned TD, so there are much Lao words. Most of TD 50 yrs or older can speak Vietmese.
