@ralphinator2 None of my parents are employed in corporations, and I, as a matter of principle, will not get a job in one. I was paying 1200 dollars PER MONTH for TERRIBLE coverage when I just turned 18 (before I went to college). That's banditry.
Public option, please, the option to buy in to Medicare at any age. Medicare provides more care per dollar than any other plan in the USA.
Many private insurance companies have a 20 to 30 percent operating budget. Meaning roughly a quarter of the money doesn't even reach the actual health care providers. Many foreign countries with single-payer plans have operating budgets as low as 5%, so almost all of the money is actually spent on health care, and not on the insurance industry.
