What if you're on a motorway? You could miss a turn off and once that happens you have to go several miles away, wasting a lot of petrol and turning around on a round-a-bout, then going all the way back to where you missed the turn off. A Sat Nav would tell you when to turn so that you don't make that mistake. Suddenly Steve (not "stave" whoever that bloke is) and Ricky don't sound like morons anymore...

I agree with Karl. Computers only care about the destination, and I think it sort of rubs off on people. You're on a journey, and it's a nice day, and there's stuff to see and do if you're willing to go off the rails a little. But if you're listening to the navigator all the time, it's almost like you're wishing you could just teleport.
