You really seem to know your stuff. I've been into matcha for a couple of months and have found variations on preparing it, but your method seems the authentic version, except I don't see that you put the powder through a sieve. I'm not sure if the sieve matters much so maybe it's a moot point but I'm just mentioning it.

A good video, informative on what a important thing the green tea is in Japanese culture, look at the way they make a ceremony for it....also it was a soothing video the sound in the back was well done

who did you learn your technique from?

We learned it from a Japanese Teamaster named Okimasa Matsuda. He taught us the basics first, then how to make each step more advanced and truer to the actual ceremony.
This is really just a casual way, though. It's purpose is to use only the basic tools so everyone can have a chance to learn and enjoy the Japanese Tea Ceremony :)
