Chris kicks off his day by learning to make Olympic-themed cupcakes at the beachfront community of White Rock, British Columbia. He then catches up with the Olympic Flame as it travels through the historic fishing village of Steveston. Chris ends his day by joining a large and enthusiastic crowd to watch Man In Motion Rick Hansen light the Richmond Celebration cauldron.

  • Nice job Chris - and for those of you worrying - the snow is where it needs to be!

  • That's right Simon it sure is!!! Check out Day 104 as the flame travels to snowy Grouse Mountain in North Vancouver!

Where in the United States are you from? It might interest you to know that White Rock Canada had the warmest winter for the (2009 - 2010) winter season. Its winter was warmer than many cities in the southern United States last winter, including the likes of Atlanta, Georgia and Dallas, Texas. Are you surprised? The region also has the lightest windspeeds on the continent. Just imagine how mild it must feel; especially when one factors in the consistent lack of wind!

  • In Oregon we can go to the ocean play on the beach, snowboard in the same day all year round.

  • Why on earth did they pick Vancouver for the winter games? It has the mildest temperature anywhere in Canada along with the Japanese current. In February the average temperature in Vancouver is 46 deg.F and the average low is 35, above freezing. It's no wonder they had to truck in all that snow!

  • The 5,500 tons of carbon dioxide that the worldwide torch emits is polluting the atmosphere.

  • Thank you from Vancouver

  • vancouver has no snow, whistler has TONS ! Only place in the world where you can go to the beach and play in the sand, and snowboard in the same day

  • I would like to live in Bc :)
