To get the message out about the harmful effects of tobacco in Hawaii, the Clear the Smoke campaign and the Hawaii Tobacco Quitline used television, radio, web, and social media. In our television and radio ads, real life situations depict how tobacco takes can control of tobacco users' lives, affect the health of others around them.
Extensive research was done with smokers and non-smokers so that we could figure out just what the right message and the right channels of communication should be used. In the end, these ads have helped people to call the Hawaii Tobacco Quitline, learn tips on how to ask others around not smoke, and even aimed to empower people to set no-smoking policies in their homes.
