This fledgling (recently out of the nest) Common Raven was begging for food at Skyland, Shenandoah National Park, Virginia, USA 22 May 2011. Earlier it was perched on top of various cars. Note the raucous squawking. It was unafraid of people.
@Gutsyndicate It takes about a week or more for a fledgling to be able to fly with their parents after leaving the nest. The bird doesn't seem like it was begging for food so much as yelling "Stay away from me"
I live someplace where I see ravens every day, and crows just about every hour of daylight. Some folks don't like the noise they make, or are superstitious about them, but I would feel very strange living someplace without them. That particular loud squacking is the noise they make to their parents to try and get more food. Congratulations, you're now mommy!
