This is a school project, my short Autobiography.
I was born April 6th 1982 in Valencia, Venezuela, to a very good family.
My parents decided to migrate to Canada in 1992 because of the developing crisis and communist movement that began in Venezuela. My Mom and Dad did not want my sister and I to live the Communism that my grandparents experienced in Russia.

Things did not go well after our migration to Canada. My mother became very home sick and my parent's original plans to find a job and a place to live did not come through. My parents tried everything they could not to go back to Venezuela due to the crime and rapid growing crisis.

Things went from bad to worse. We had to move out of my aunt's place in
Brampton three months later due to space. We ended up living in hotel for a month before my dad was able to find a decent place for us to live.
Once we found a place my dad couldn't find work, and eight months later we were forced to return to Venezuela. We lived with a different aunt in Venezuela to try to get things back together for a few months. My mother that was very home sick realized that if we stayed in Venezuela, we would probably not have a future. She realized that there was a possibility of ending up either homeless, or murdered due to the high crime rate.

My parents were determined to try migrating a second time. This time my father came by himself first. He was able to secure a job at a carpentry shop that paid him minimum wage; with the help of this job he rented a small top floor of a house in Scarborough.

My Mom, my sister and I arrived about a month later. We arrived with a bag of clothes and $80 dollars for the cab ride out of the Airport. My mom carried my sister --she was five years old and I carried our bag of clothes. For the following year, things were tough as we saved money to purchase things.
We reused paper plates if we could; we ate on the floor because we did not have a table or chairs. And my sister slept in my mom's winter jacket because we did not have a bed.
My dad worked very hard to give us the best that he could, and little by little we started to acquire the things that we needed, with out any assistance. Two years later my parents saved enough to put a down payment on an apartment and we moved to Pickering.

After moving to Pickering I began to struggle at school for the first time ever. I began to have a lot of problems at school and struggled a lot. After enrolling as an auto technician apprentice and through working on cars I became a Philomath. I excelled as a technician and became the only Saab Technician in Canada to have a perfect repaired right the first visit record. I even built the transmissions for the Saab Canada racecar.

By this point I wanted to return to school and did not want to stay as a technician. I decided to wait five years while my sister finished school so that I could help my parents financially and I also needed to prepare my self academically.
After she was done College I pushed her to go through University. I told her not get stuck like I had and she finished a Bachelor of Commerce with Honours at Ryerson University.

Now it is my time. With a desire and admiration for innovation, which I was exposed to through the Saab brand, and a love for arts I feel fortunate to have been accepted to O.C.A.D. I want to learn design and hope that I can make difference in the world, even if it is just a small one.
