  • @andpal1000 Yes - sorry, we'd hoped to include the link to our Backsolving lesson video but kept getting an error when trying to post the link in the comment. You can find the video by doing a YouTube search for "kaplansatact backsolving" Let us know if you have any questions!

  • May i also ask the process about back solving . . . . thanks!

  • @andpal1000 We'd use Backsolving to answer a math question like this. It can be solved algebraically, but Backsolving will save you time. To solve algebraically: 1 - Find that orange juice has 13.5 cal/oz (216/16) & grapefruit juice has 10.875 cal/oz (174/16). 2 - For the mixture, let x = oz of orange juice & 8-x = oz of grapefruit juice: 94=13.5x+(10.875)(8-x) -> x=2 2/3. This means orange juice makes up 8/3 of the mixture.

  • Hello there! Please help me solve this math problem. "Sixteen ounces of fresh orange juice contains 216 calories, and 16 ounces of fresh grapefruit juice contains 174 calories. If an 8-ounce mixture of these two juices contains 94 calories, what fraction of the mixture is orange juice?
