Preston Court's 112-key Mortier dance hall organ. The organ was built in 1937 and is serial number 1076. It was used in a mobile dance tent called 'Luxor', and has a fully working accordion, plus piccolo pipes worked from the extra keys (compared to a 'standard' 101 key Mortier).
David Burville has been steadily restoring the instrument, first musically, and then more recently, the Art Deco front, and it is seen here almost ready to be painted to a close original finish.
The organ is seen here being demonstrated by David Burville on a private visit, and given that the air temperature was extremely cold inside and out, I think the instrument can be forgiven the occasional 'duff' note!
In this video clip the tune is 'Het Sprookje is uit' ('The fairytale is out').
A beautiful Art Deco organ!!! Loved the clip!

This sounds like an Urbain Van Wichelen arrangement as I've heard this on anothe r large dance organ by him. Urbain Van Wichelen arranged a lot of the music which is in this organ's repertoire and excellent arrangements they are too!

The façade of the organ is really looking fantastic! It has the typical 'harsh' sound of the later Mortier organs (in my opinions). Really a fine restoration!!!

Seems to me that the owner of Preston Court has somewhat of a museum? This one sounds a little harsh at times - the music doesn't seem to fit the title (unless it is intended to drive wee ones to bed!) Thanks for letting us hear this.
