How Diego Merino Came Into My Life

To the couple: Rach & Diego, I was going to write a speech about these few particular events the night before your wedding, but I figured it would be a little more powerful in video form. And I made the deadline too!

Unfortunately what I didn't include was how truly awesome you two are together as a couple. You are the cutest, sweetest, most generous pair I know. I try not to take advantage of you but I really do. I remember going to see movies with you guys--sometimes as a third wheel--and you would pay for my ticket and popcorn and the whole nine yards. And if I want something and I know you can access it, I know all I have to do is ask and Diego you'll find it on kijiji or Rach you'll keep an eye out for it in the store.

Speaking of shopping, Rach, you're the number one person for me to shop with. I love not only the mall portion, but also the driving to and from portion because that's where we do all the talking. And then say I don't find exactly what I need, well Rach, you let me use your clothes anytime I want--I don't even have to ask. In fact, I'm wearing your yellow Mickey Mouse shirt right now. I always find that generousity wondrous because I'm not sure if you are aware but I used to go through all your stuff when I was little; looking through it after I went to bed but you weren't in yet.

I think it's awesome that you guys are less than ten minutes from home (well, Mom & Dad's house in Rexdale anyway) and hopefully you think so too. I can have good access to your rather larger television and your willing, joyous company. You are often over on lonely nights to make them not so lonely by playing a game or watching a movie and I love that. You are so good about asking questions about my life and wanting to know and listen.

I really admire you for your generousity and kindness and you inspire me to be that way too. I hope you will always continue to show those qualities to each other and share them with others.
